Myofunctional therapy is a gentle exercise-based approach that helps retrain the muscles of the  mouth, tongue and face to work the way they're meant to. Essentially, it's like physical therapy for the mouth and face.
Through a series of personalized exercises and increased awareness, it helps restore normal oral function and breathing.
The therapy addresses Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs), such as mouth breathing, improper oral rest posture and dysfunctional swallowing patterns. These issues can contribute to a variety of challenges including TMJ discomfort, speech problems, orthodontic relapses, and even sleep disordered breathing! By correcting the underlying dysfunction, myofunctional therapy can play a key role in improving both oral and overall health!
